The interests of India and Russia lie in the broad areas of social and economic life, politics and ecology. Thus, when delivering his speech at the EEF, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, affirmed his country’s commitment to the “Act in the Far East” policy. This policy has become an important component of the "Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership" between India and Russia. Currently, a number of joint Russian-Indian projects in different fields are being run, including those aimed at developing cooperation in science and technology on the Russian Far East between the two countries.

In 2021, the NSCMB FEB RAS signed some agreements for science cooperation with two Indian scientific institutions: one Memorandum of Understanding was concluded with the CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (SCIR-NIO), Goa, India, and the other was signed with the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata (IISER-K). The latter Memorandum endorsed the establishment of the Centre for Excellence in Blue Economy.

At the Primorsky Aquarium, the delegation of high-ranking officials was met by Head of the International Cooperation Department at the NSCMB FEB RAS, Konstantin Lutaenko.
