Scientific Head: Prof. Vladimir Alekseevich Brykov, a principal researcher, Dr. Sci. Biol., has managed the Laboratory since 1989.

  • Population and evolutionary genetics of marine organisms, phylogeography.
  • Structure and evolution of genes.

Isolation of nucleic acid, cloning, and sequencing.

Range of organisms and objects under study; geography of research:

The range of studied organisms and objects includes microalgae, marine invertebrates, fish species, and marine mammals.

The research of the laboratory is focused on marine organisms of the North Pacific.

Laboratory instrument base

The Laboratory is equipped with ultracentrifuge, microcentrifuge, amplifiers, RT-amplifiers, and genetic analyzers.
